New Cabinet Members Assume Their Roles on Monday

Five ministers and one deputy minister to be sworn in before formal handover ceremonies

The government enters a new phase on Monday as the recently appointed members of the Cabinet officially take up their duties, following Friday evening’s reshuffle announcement by the President of the Republic. The day begins with the formal oath-taking and continues with a sequence of handover ceremonies across key ministries.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 9am at the Presidential Palace, marking the official appointment of:

  • Michalis Damianou as Minister of Energy
  • Marinos Moushiouttas as Minister of Labour
  • Constantinos Fytiris as Minister of Justice
  • Neophytos Charalambides as Minister of Health
  • Klea Chatzistefanou Papaellina as Deputy Minister of Social Welfare

The President of the Republic will attend the ceremony.

Schedule of handover ceremonies

The transition process continues throughout the day with formal handovers at each ministry.

  • 10:30am: Ministry of Health
  • 11:00am: Ministry of Labour
  • 11:30am: Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare
  • 12:00pm: Ministry of Energy
  • 12:30pm: Ministry of Justice

These appointments complete the latest government reshuffle, setting the stage for the new Cabinet members to begin work immediately on their respective portfolios.
