Turkey is expected to send four military aircraft to the north on Sunday, where they will reportedly land at Tymbou (Ercan) Airport, according to information published by the Turkish Cypriot newspaper Yeni Duzen.

According to Saturday's report, following the recent attack on the British Bases, Turkey will dispatch four fighter jets to the north as part of efforts to strengthen the defence of the breakaway entity and in its capacity as a “guarantor power”.

The aircraft are expected to be stationed at the Tymbou (Ercan) airport, where security measures have reportedly been increased.

The newspaper noted that no 'official' announcement has been made by the 'government', adding that the reported deployment comes amid rising tensions in the wider region.
