At this stage there is no information indicating any threat against the Republic of Cyprus, police spokesperson Vyronas Vyronos reiterated in statements on Saturday.

Commenting on security measures being taken in connection with developments in the Middle East, Vyronos said tpolice continue to implement heightened policing measures at all critical infrastructure sites and high-risk locations across the country.

He explained that the measures are precautionary and aim to prevent any potential threat.

“All established security protocols have been activated and the situation is being monitored in coordination with all competent services of the Republic,” he said.

“At this stage it should be reiterated that there is no information indicating any threat against the Republic of Cyprus,” he added.

Vyronos also noted that the Cyprus Police are acting on a preventive basis, with the primary priority being the protection of citizens and the safeguarding of public safety.
