Motorcyclist Killed in Akrotiri Road Collision, Driver Arrested

The crash on the M1 road left a female passenger hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries

A motorcyclist was killed and his female passenger injured in a road traffic collision on the M1 road near the strawberry kiosk in Akrotiri at 1.39pm on Saturday, according to the Sovereign Base Areas Police.

The male rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to Limassol General Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Both were wearing full protective motorcycle clothing. The driver of the other vehicle involved has been arrested and is being questioned at the SBA Police station in Akrotiri.

The stretch of road remains closed. SBA Police said further information would be released as the investigation progresses.
