Police Record 301 Traffic Violations In Large-Scale Night Operations

Police recorded 301 traffic violations during coordinated night patrols on Sunday, operations that also led to the arrest of three individuals for offences including impersonation, illegal drug possession, driving a stolen vehicle and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Three arrests during coordinated patrols

According to the Police Communication Branch, the arrests were made as part of organised patrols conducted at key points in urban areas aimed at preventing serious criminal activity, maintaining public order and strengthening the public’s sense of safety.

During the operations, police stopped 492 vehicles for inspection and checked 689 individuals travelling in them.

Checks on vehicles, people and premises

Police also carried out 33 inspections of premises to address incidents of unlawful behaviour. These checks resulted in nine complaints.

During traffic enforcement checks, 301 reports were issued for various road traffic offences, while 14 cases of traffic violations are currently under investigation.

As part of the ongoing investigations, seven vehicles were seized by police.

Speeding among most common offences

Among the recorded traffic offences, 166 reports concerned speeding violations.

Police also issued four reports for driving under the influence of alcohol, following 79 alcohol tests carried out on drivers.

Continued policing operations

Police said coordinated policing operations aimed at preventing and suppressing crime will continue daily, with strengthened presence, targeted checks and immediate operational response to protect citizens and maintain public order.
