A minor quake was felt in and around the city of Paphos early this morning, a week after two major quakes and dozens of aftershocks affected the area and most of Cyprus, causing damage and concern.

This one though was recorded at just 2.5 on the Richter scale, with the epicentre reported by the Euromeditteranean Seimological Centre as 14 kilometres northeast of Paphos and 44 off Limassol, at a depth of 15 km.

A number of residents felt the tremblor as a brief jolt around 0700, mostly on higher buildings. There was no other seismic activity after the minor quake.
