Seven people were arrested across Limassol, Nicosia and Larnaca after riots and fires, and throwing explosives at officers, police said on Sunday.
According to a police statement, the incidents unfolded on Saturday night and involved illegal gatherings of young individuals, acts of malicious damage, and the throwing of improvised explosive devices, firecrackers and stones at police officers.
As part of the investigations, police arrested a total of seven individuals.
In Limassol, five minors were arrested, while two adults were arrested in Larnaca district.
The offences under investigation in relation to the minors include, among others, conspiracy to commit a felony and misdemeanour, rioting, breach of the peace, causing malicious damage, possession of offensive weapons, and insulting a police officer.
As regards the two adults, police are investigating a case involving possession of narcotic substances.
During the night, incidents were recorded involving fires being set to refuse bins, tyres, a kiosk and dry vegetation, as well as acts of malicious damage.
In addition, three police service vehicles sustained damage as a result of stone-throwing.
Investigations are ongoing.
