Ski Season Begins at Troodos

Sun Valley I (Aphrodite) will welcome skiers from Wednesday morning after recent snowfall provided sufficient and safe snow conditions.

The first ski slope of the season at Troodos will open to the public on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 10:00 am. The Sun Valley I (Aphrodite) slope will be free to access, according to the management of the Troodos ski centre.

As reported by the website kitasweather, the decision was taken following snowfall over the past 24 hours, as both the depth and quality of the snow were deemed sufficient for the safe operation of the specific slope.

By contrast, conditions on the remaining slopes are currently not adequate, as there is insufficient snow cover. Given that no significant new snowfall is forecast in the near future, it remains unclear when, or if, the other slopes will open this season.

At the same time, the lift at the North Face slope will operate daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, exclusively for walking and enjoying the views from above. The lift will not be available for skiing on that slope.
