Nicosia Invites You To Dress Up For The Joey Aglantzia Carnival Parade 2026

Schools, associations and residents are invited to take part in one of the capital’s most joyful street celebrations, with prizes, music and colour filling Aglantzia this February.

The Municipality of Nicosia is calling on schools, cultural and sports associations, organised groups and residents of greater Nicosia to put on their costumes, unleash their imagination and join the Joey Aglantzia Carnival Parade 2026, set to take place on Sunday, 15 February.

Promising a vibrant mix of creativity, music and carnival spirit, the parade is open to all, with free thematic choice and generous cash prizes for the most original group entries.

Start time: 11:30

Parade route: Approximately 1,550 metres of colour and celebration

Start and finish: Kyrenia Avenue (Platý), Aglantzia

Participants per group: Up to 150 people per group. Larger groups may be divided into sub-groups under the same theme.

Theme:

Free choice. The more imaginative, the better.

Floats (maximum dimensions): 400 cm (L) × 300 cm (W) × 350 cm (H)

Note: Placement of logos is only permitted following prior agreement with the Municipality.

Participation Fees Per Group

  • 1–80 participants: €80
  • 81–120 participants: €120
  • 121–150 participants: €150

Prizes For The Standout Groups

The four best groups will be awarded:

  • 1st Prize: €1,000
  • 2nd Prize: €800
  • 3rd Prize: €600
  • 4th Prize: €400
