Four Arrests After Police Raid at Paphos Restaurant

Cash and prohibited weapons were reportedly found during a late-night police operation at a venue in Paphos’ historic centre, with authorities confirming that the individuals involved are known to the police and come from different districts.

Four people were arrested following a police operation in Paphos, according to the Head of the Communication Branch at Police Headquarters, Vyronas Vyronos. Speaking on a radio programme, he said officers located cash and metal knuckle-dusters in the possession of those present at the venue.

Police operation and arrests

The arrests followed a surprise police operation carried out on Sunday evening in the historic centre of Paphos. The operation caused disruption in the area as officers entered a restaurant and conducted extensive checks.

According to Byron Byrons, cash and metal knuckle-dusters were found in the possession of individuals inside the premises. He noted that those present were already known to the authorities.

Statements by the Police spokesperson

Speaking on the radio programme Proini Epitheorisi, broadcast on Politis 107.6 and 97.6, the Police spokesperson said the individuals originated from various districts. No further details were provided regarding the amounts of cash or the circumstances under which the items were found.

Eyewitnesses reported that armed police officers with their facial features covered entered the venue and carried out checks. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not announced any further measures at this stage.
