Justice Ministry Meets to Accelerate Plans for New Prison Facility

Coordination between state departments steps up as work begins on the prison master plan

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice and Public Order on Thursday, chaired by Justice Minister Marios Fytiris, aimed at accelerating the process for the construction of a new correctional facility.

According to a Ministry announcement, the meeting marked the beginning of formal coordination and exchange of views on the project. Participants recorded the key parameters of the undertaking, established initial directions and agreed to intensify coordination in order to prepare the prison master plan as quickly as possible.

Those present included the Ministry's Director General, representatives from the Departments of Public Works, Town Planning and Cadastre, and Electromechanical Services, the Deputy Director of the Prison Department, and officers from the Ministry of Justice.
