With profound sadness, our company team bids farewell to our founder, George Vassiliou, one of the most important leaders of modern Cyprus and a man who served our country with passion and dedication. George Vassiliou passed away at the age of 94, following a period of illness, surrounded by the love of his family.

As the third President of the Republic of Cyprus (1988–1993), he played a decisive role in guiding the country towards modernisation and its integration into the European family, a strategic choice that later led to Cyprus joining the European Union.

Before his political career, George Vassiliou was a successful entrepreneur and founder of the Centre for Middle Eastern Studies (CEMA), demonstrating early on his ability to combine vision with action.

For the Innovation Leo Burnett team, his contribution goes far beyond his official role: the values he upheld, respect, dignity, determination, and faith in a shared future, continue to inspire the way we stand by one another and move forward.

To his family, and especially to Vasso Vassiliou, who today carries forward the company with respect and a strong sense of responsibility, we express our sincere sympathy. Her presence represents a discreet yet meaningful continuation of the values he served.

When a person leaves such a deep mark, their loss is felt not only today but with every step we take from now on.

Farewell, Mr President. Your absence leaves a void, yet your legacy illuminates our future.

The Innovation Leo Burnett Team
