More than 45 comedians will take part in 18 shows over five days in Limassol, as Stantar Kkomety presents the 4th International Limassol Comedy Festival from Wednesday, September 30 to Sunday, October 4. The programme brings together international headliners, Cypriot and Greek comedians, and a series of free opening-night events, with performances in four languages.
Programme and venues
The five-day programme includes international headliners, local performers, solo shows, curated line-ups and events open to all, centred on Genethliou Mitella Street in Limassol's old town.
Six venues will host different parts of the festival: Theatro ENA, Sto Dromo Bar, the Old Dog Club, ARCO, Da Vinci and the Alley Stage. Street performances, music and pop-ups will run between shows across the area.
International headliners
Desiree Burch, Loren Kraut, Tamer Kattan, Rogier Bak, Zahid Dewji, Jen Kober and Maxi Witrak lead this year's international programme, performing stand-up sets in English.
Overall, the festival will feature shows in Greek, English, Russian and Serbo-Croatian.
Cypriot and Greek comedians
Cypriot and Greek comedy has a central place in the programme. Festival founder Yorkos headlines The Locals in English and performs his solo show in Cypriot Greek, Ime Kipreos.
Line-ups and formats
Audiences can choose between English and Greek line-ups, headliner double bills, solo performances, new-material showcases, The NYC Gang and late-night RAW shows. Russian-language comedy and Pedja Bajović's Yugo Showcomplete the multilingual programme.
Free opening-night events
The festival opens on Wednesday, September 30 with free events, including competitive open mics, New Festival Voices and the Roast of Cyprus.
Over the five days, the festival aims to showcase Cyprus's stand-up comedy scene, give a platform to new voices and bring invited artists from abroad to Limassol audiences.
