Cyprus’ Department of Road Transport says fresh alerts were posted in week 38 of 2025 to the EU Safety Gate (the rapid-alert system for non-food products). The notices cover passenger cars, motorcycles, trucks and other vehicles.
The alerts reference vehicles from VW, Honda, Renault Trucks, Ferrari, DS Automobiles, Citroën, Peugeot, Opel, Toyota, Lexus, Aston Martin, BMW, Kubota and Nissan. Some cases also involve agricultural and professional tractors.
Timeframe and batches
Issues span multiple production runs built between 2019 and 2025. Consumers can look up the exact VIN ranges and defects on the Safety Gate website using each alert’s reference number.
If your vehicle may be affected, contact the manufacturer, local dealer or distributor for instructions on inspection and any required repair or recall action.
Manufacturers, agents, importers and dealers who placed affected vehicles on the Cypriot market must notify the Department of Road Transport and initiate recall procedures, as required by law.
If you need help or wish to complain
If an economic operator fails to meet its obligations, consumers can file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Service via its website. For more information, contact the Department of Road Transport or the email address: recalls@rtd.mcw.gov.cy
