Labour Ministry Announces 3.38% Increase in Basic Pensions Component

At the same time, based on the Consumer Price Index, there is no increase in the supplementary component.

The basic component of Social Insurance pensions will increase by 3.38% as of 1 January 2026, the Labour Ministry announced on Monday.

According to the statement, the monthly amount of the full basic pension will rise to €529.82, while the minimum pension will increase to €450.35 per month, for beneficiaries without dependants.

It is also noted that, based on the Consumer Price Index, there will be no increase in the supplementary component. In addition, as of 1 January 2026, the social pension will be set at €429.15 per month.

The Social Insurance Services also announced that the maximum insurable earnings ceiling will increase from January 2026 to €1,325 per week and €5,742 per month.

The notional incomes of self-employed persons, on which social insurance contributions are calculated, will increase by 3.38% as of 5 January 2026.

As of 5 January 2026, the funeral grant will be set at €642.88, while the maternity grant will be set at €1,095.21, €1,642.81, €2,190.42 and €2,738.02 for the first, second, third and fourth plus each subsequent child, respectively.
