The next meeting between President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman will take place on 2 September at 3pm, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis announced on Thursday.
Speaking during a briefing at the Presidential Palace, Letymbiotis confirmed the date of the leaders' next face-to-face meeting, following their recent discussions on the Cyprus issue.
Civil society committee members announced
Letymbiotis also announced the members representing the Greek Cypriot side on the steering committee of the Civil Society Advisory Body.
The appointees are:
- Pantelis Poetis
- Alexandros Lordos
- Amalia Avraam
- Sophia Papamichalopoulos
- Marios Michaelides
UN-backed initiative
The government spokesman said the creation of the advisory body was one of the wishes expressed by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
In addition to its permanent members, the body will include 50 participants from each community, who will discuss issues affecting daily life.
Membership is expected to vary depending on the topics under discussion, allowing broader participation from civil society in both communities.
