President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides is meeting UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today, Thursday, during his visit to New York for the UN General Assembly.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:55 p.m. Cyprus time at the headquarters of the international organisation.
Earlier, at 4:00 p.m. Cyprus time, the President will attend a working breakfast organised by Antenna Group and the Atlantic Council on the topic “Consolidating EU-Gulf cooperation for regional security and prosperity”. He will address the gathering.
At 8:00 p.m. Cyprus time, the President will host a dinner for the permanent representatives of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.
On Wednesday, Nikos Christodoulides addressed the UN General Assembly, calling on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to allow meaningful negotiations on the Cyprus issue within the framework agreed by the UN. At the same time, he stressed that partition would not be accepted.
