A 37-year-old father charged with causing the death of his three-year-old son through a reckless, negligent or dangerous act appeared before Paphos District Court on Tuesday, where the case was formally filed.
The court scheduled the next hearing for 31 July 2026 at 10 am and ordered the man's release under strict bail conditions.
The defendant was required to lodge a €20,000 cash guarantee, be placed on a stop list, surrender all travel documents, report once a week to Paphos Central Police Station, refrain from crossing checkpoints and provide police with his full residential address.
After complying with all conditions imposed by the court, the 37-year-old was released pending the next hearing.
The Attorney General had earlier ordered the prosecution of the suspect after reviewing all evidence gathered during the police investigation.
According to information available, alcohol was detected in the defendant's blood, a factor expected to be examined during the court proceedings.
