The Forestry Department was placed on alert on Sunday afternoon after a fire broke out in a forested area in Kambos Tsakistras.
According to initial information, substantial Forestry Department and Fire Service crews are working at the scene, aiming to contain and extinguish the blaze.
Firefighting aircraft are also taking part in the operation, carrying out continuous water drops to tackle the fire.
The cause of the fire is expected to be investigated once firefighting efforts are complete.
