A fire that broke out on Tuesday morning in the Aradippou municipality, Larnaca district, was brought under full control within a short time. According to the Forestry Department, the fire broke out at 11.27am alongside the motorway, near the Rizoelia roundabout.
The prompt intervention of forest firefighting crews meant the fire was brought under full control by 11.50am, after burning a small area of dry grass. Six members of the Forestry Department with two firefighting vehicles took part in the operation, alongside four members of the Fire Service with one vehicle.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the relevant authorities.
