Average salaries in Cyprus increased by 3.7% in the first quarter of 2026, according to figures released by the Statistical Service on Wednesday.
Preliminary data show that average gross monthly earnings reached €2,601 during the first quarter of 2026, up from €2,508 during the corresponding period in 2025.
Compared with the fourth quarter of 2025, seasonally adjusted average gross earnings increased by 0.8%.
Men continue to earn more
Average gross monthly earnings for men were estimated at €2,776, compared with €2,378 for women.
Year-on-year, average earnings increased by 3.3% for men and 4.2% for women.
Most employees earn between €1,500 and €2,999
The largest share of employees falls within the €1,500 to €2,999 gross monthly earnings bracket.
The distribution differs by nationality, however.
Cypriot employees are concentrated mainly in the €1,500-€2,999 category, while non-Cypriot workers are more heavily represented in the under €1,500 bracket.
According to the data, 34% of employees receive gross monthly earnings of up to €1,500.
