Metal Products Lead July Rise in Building Material Costs

Cyprus' Statistical Service says construction material prices rose modestly in July, led by increases in metal, wood and electromechanical products.

Construction material prices posted a modest rise in July, according to data published on Tuesday by the Statistical Service. The Construction Material Price Index for July 2026 stood at 123.00 points (base year 2021=100), an increase of 0.23% compared with the previous month.

Compared with the same month last year, the index recorded a rise of 3.33%.

By main product category, increases were recorded in metal products (4.94%), wood, insulation, chemical and plastic products (4.58%), electromechanical items (3.29%), minerals (2.51%) and mineral products (0.98%).

For the period from January to July 2026, the index rose by 1.87% compared with the same period in 2025.
