Temperatures Climb to 39C Today, Rising Further Through Friday

Mostly sunny weather is expected, with temperatures remaining above seasonal averages and climbing further later in the week.

A seasonal low-pressure system is affecting the region.

The weather today will be mostly clear. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, initially light at force 3 Beaufort, gradually increasing to light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort and reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort in southern areas during the afternoon.

The sea will be slight.

Temperatures are expected to reach:

  • Around 39C inland
  • Around 30C along the southwest and west coasts
  • Around 33C along the remaining coastal areas
  • Around 29C in the higher mountains

Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear. During the early morning hours, patches of mist or fog and low cloud are expected to form locally.

Winds will gradually become variable and light, up to 3 Beaufort, while the sea will be calm to slight.

Temperatures will fall to:

  • Around 21C inland
  • Around 23C along the coast
  • Around 20C in the higher mountains

On Wednesday, the weather will remain mostly clear.

On Thursday and Friday, increased cloud is expected to develop locally during the afternoon.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly on Wednesday but will gradually rise through Friday, remaining above average for the season.
