Foreign minister announces new humanitarian funding for East Jerusalem hospitals

Cyprus has reaffirmed its longstanding support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during the second Meeting of the Palestine Donor Group in Brussels.

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos said Cyprus remains committed to a two-state solution in line with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Recognition

In a social media post, Kombos noted that Cyprus has recognised the State of Palestine since 1988 and continues to regard the two-state framework as the basis for achieving lasting peace.

He also reiterated the Republic of Cyprus' support for a strengthened and reformed Palestinian Authority.

Kombos further announced that Cyprus will provide financial assistance through the CyprusAid programme to support a network of six hospitals in East Jerusalem, as part of its ongoing humanitarian assistance efforts.
