European Union Special Representative for the Cyprus issue Raffaele Fitto will arrive in Cyprus on Thursday evening, President Nikos Christodoulides confirmed.
The announcement came shortly before the start of the trilateral meeting involving Christodoulides, UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman.
Meeting scheduled for Friday
Christodoulides said he would meet Fitto on Friday morning, as renewed diplomatic activity continues around the Cyprus issue.
The President reiterated that the Greek Cypriot side is seeking positive developments that could pave the way for the resumption of negotiations from where they ended at Crans-Montana.
