Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27.
Gerber died on Sunday, 20 September, at a rehabilitation facility, according to reports citing Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records. An autopsy has yet to be completed and his cause of death has not been determined.
Family asks for privacy
A representative for the Crawford-Gerber family confirmed the death and asked for the family’s privacy to be respected during what it described as a particularly difficult and painful time.
Gerber is survived by his parents and his sister, model and actress Kaia Gerber.
Followed his mother into modelling
Gerber followed in his mother’s footsteps in the fashion industry, beginning his modelling career as a teenager.
He signed with IMG Models at the age of 15 and went on to work with major fashion houses and brands, including Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein.
Open about personal struggles
In recent years, Gerber had spoken publicly about difficulties involving his mental health and substance use.
Through interviews, podcasts and social media, he sought to raise awareness and support others facing similar struggles.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation pending completion of the autopsy.
