Tehran is expected to respond by the end of the week to a proposal that sets out a seven-day timetable and daily confidence-building steps.

Qatari mediators presented Iran with a new draft deal to end the US-Israeli war against the country on Sunday. Tehran is expected to respond by the end of the week, an official briefed on the negotiations said.

The draft, which Iran is considering, sets out a seven-day timetable for addressing the concerns of Tehran and Washington. It includes specific steps each side would need to take daily to build trust, the official said.

The timetable could take effect as early as next week, while several countries would act as guarantors of the agreement, according to the same source.

Qatar and Pakistan have mediated efforts to end the war launched by the United States and Israel in February. The conflict has disrupted global shipping and oil supplies and has spread to other parts of the Middle East.

Before Sunday's meeting in Tehran, there had been concerns that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could resume attacks on Iran within the week, the official said.
