A coordinated operation between the Cyprus Police Drugs Squad and the British Bases Police resulted in a significant drugs seizure and the arrest of a Cypriot man in Trachoni on Friday.

The joint action is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt organised criminal networks operating in and around the Limassol district.

According to the authorities, officers recovered approximately 23 kilograms of cannabis during the raid, along with 250 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine and 26 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Two vehicles connected to the case were also confiscated as part of the investigation.

Bases' Temporary Superintendent Melina Papagregoriou emphasised the importance of such collaborative operations, noting that the outcome reflects the continuing commitment of both the Cyprus Police and the Bases Police to prevent harmful substances from reaching local communities.

The arrested man is expected to appear again in court on Monday, 8 December, as investigations continue.
