Shots Fired In Limassol As Police Hunt Gunmen

Two people on a motorcycle opened fire at the façade of a foreign-owned hotel in central Limassol on Thursday evening, with motives and weapon still unknown.

Police investigations are under way in Limassol following a shooting incident that caused alarm in the city centre on Thursday afternoon. Authorities are analysing CCTV footage and collecting statements as efforts continue to identify and locate the perpetrators.

According to a police statement, the incident occurred shortly after 6pm on Thursday. Two individuals riding a motorcycle reportedly fired multiple shots at the front of a hotel complex owned by foreign interests in the heart of Limassol.

The gunfire struck the hotel’s façade, causing disturbance in the area. Police officers rushed to the scene immediately to secure the site and begin examinations.

At this stage, authorities have not disclosed how many shots were fired or what type of weapon was used. The motives behind the attack also remain unclear.

Investigators are currently reviewing footage from the hotel’s closed-circuit surveillance system, as well as cameras from nearby premises. Witness statements are also being taken as part of the ongoing effort to trace the suspects and clarify the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
