The Ministry of Health has announced the recall from the Cypriot market of a specific batch of male condoms, after it was found not to meet safety and quality requirements.
According to the announcement, the recalled product is Durex Feel Thin condoms, batch number 1001822485, with a use-by date of June 2029. The product does not comply with the safety and quality standards set out in current legislation governing medical devices, and its use may pose risks to public health.
The Competent Authority for Medical Devices is calling on consumers who have the specific product in their possession not to use it and to return it immediately to the point of sale where it was purchased.
In a more detailed statement, the Ministry of Health said the product in question is a counterfeit medical device. It added that the Medical Devices Authority is continuing its investigation in cooperation with the relevant bodies, with the aim of safeguarding public health and ensuring the complete withdrawal of the product from the market.
The Ministry also noted that if the distribution of other related products is identified on the Cypriot market, a supplementary or updated announcement will be issued.
