Cyprus Public Transport has announced that the Pame Express bus service will be suspended from Monday, 23 March 2026, citing a continuing shortage of drivers. The company said efforts are underway to find a solution and restore the service as soon as possible.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, with the operator stating that the decision was unavoidable despite attempts to prevent the disruption.

Driver shortage behind suspension

In its statement, Cyprus Public Transport said the persistent lack of available drivers has made it impossible to continue operating the service.

The company noted that various efforts had been made in recent months to avoid the suspension, but the staffing shortage has continued to affect operations.

Apology to passengers

Cyprus Public Transport expressed sincere apologies to passengers for the disruption caused by the decision, acknowledging that the current situation is affecting its overall service provision.

The company added that its commitment remains the delivery of a reliable transport service and that it is actively seeking workable solutions to address the issue and reinstate the Pame Express service at the earliest opportunity.
