COSMOS Insurance, in collaboration with the Municipality of Nicosia, presented on Thursday, March 26, a new initiative aimed at the care and protection of our four-legged fellow citizens.

At the successful event held at the lower level of Eleftheria Square, the public was informed about the organized feeding stations for stray cats, which are now located at strategic points across the city.

Specifically, 21 feeders have been installed across all districts of the municipality, while two organized feeding areas have been created at the Pedieos River and Olympiades Park. At the same time, a controlled and clean feeding system has been designed and is being implemented with the valuable contribution of volunteers.

The event was attended by Maria Arkoudi, known for her animal welfare initiatives in Greece. She inspired the feeding stations and traveled to Cyprus to demonstrate their proper use. She was accompanied by children from Faneromeni Kindergarten, highlighting that fostering love for animals should begin at an early age.

In his address, Charalambos Prountzos, Mayor of Nicosia, stressed the importance of sterilization in the responsible management of the stray animal population. Meanwhile, Kyriakos Tyllis, CEO and Executive Member of the Board of COSMOS Insurance, emphasized that our behavior towards animals is a measure of civilization. Finally, as part of the event, the Mayor also presented “Nicosia Pet Friendly,” a modern platform for information and awareness on animal welfare issues.

Through its tangible support in implementing organized feeding stations, COSMOS Insurance once again demonstrated that it is a modern insurance company that not only offers innovative products, such as the pet insurance program petCARE, but also remains committed to creating a world of harmonious coexistence between people and animals.
