The “Income Tax Calculator” has been made available to taxpayers as part of the Tax Reform implemented from 1 January 2026, the Department of Taxation announced.
According to the Department’s statement, the new tool follows the 9 January 2026 announcement on the publication of the Tax Deductions Claim Form (T.F.59) and related guidance materials. It is accessible through the dedicated “Tax Reform 2026” section on the Department of Taxation’s website homepage.
The tool is designed to inform and guide taxpayers, allowing them to calculate their income tax based on their personal circumstances - whether single, part of a family, or a single-parent household - by entering income by category along with applicable deductions, allowances, and exemptions.
Assessing benefits
Specifically, the calculator shows the amount of income tax under the pre-reform tax system, the amount under the new tax regime effective from 2026, and the tax benefit resulting from the reform by comparing the two systems.
The Department emphasised that the “Income Tax Calculator” is intended solely for simulation and informational purposes. In line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the tool does not store, transmit, or process personal data, as all calculations are performed locally on the user’s device.
