The northern lights were captured from space by Russian cosmonaut Sergei Kud‑Sverchkov, who filmed the phenomenon from aboard the International Space Station.

In the footage, a sweeping wave of green and red light can be seen moving across the northern regions of the Earth, offering a striking view of the aurora as seen from orbit.
“During the strongest storm of the past two decades, there was an intense red glow. It was as if we were literally sailing through this light,” Kud-Sverchkov wrote on his Telegram channel.
