The 'foreign minister' in the north presented AfD MP Maximilian Krah with the Turkish side's positions on the Cyprus problem, also addressing the property issue, the 'immovable property commission' and arrests connected to cases involving Greek Cypriot properties.
Tahsin Ertugruloglou conveyed the Turkish side's position of "sovereign equality" and a "two-state solution" to Krah, the German MP for the Alternative for Germany (AfD), who is holding meetings in the north following an invitation from the 'parliament.'
According to a statement from the 'foreign ministry,' the meeting reviewed the history of the Cyprus problem and set out the Turkish position on the shape of a settlement. Ertugruloglou also addressed the operation of the 'immovable property commission,' saying it constitutes a recognised legal remedy under the European Court of Human Rights. He further claimed that the Republic of Cyprus was carrying out "unlawful arrests" over the property issue, and alleged this amounted to an attempt to damage the economy of the north.
Also present at the meeting were 'deputy minister' Kemal Kopruluoglu and Nicosia 'MP' Hasan Tacoy of the 'National Unity Party.'
