Digital tools using virtual reality and artificial intelligence, aimed at strengthening the skills and wellbeing of young people aged 15 to 30 with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), are planned under the European project “e-NeuroFocus Empowering ADHD Youth through VR, AI and Holistic Wellbeing”. The project is coordinated by the ADHD Association Cyprus.
According to an announcement issued by the Association on Thursday, e-NeuroFocus will run for two years, from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2028, and has a total budget of €250,000. It is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
The consortium brings together five organisations from four countries: the ADHD Association Cyprus and SGIH Social and Gendered Innovations Hub from Cyprus, the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” from Greece, ADHD Europe from Belgium, and “Vo mojot svet” from North Macedonia.
Virtual reality
The project includes the development of virtual reality scenarios to practise everyday-life skills and executive functions; an artificial intelligence chatbot for structured, non-clinical learning and wellbeing support; and a mobile app with short learning activities and tools to encourage healthy daily habits.
Educational materials, methodologies and tools will also be developed for professionals working with young people. Young people with ADHD will take part in designing and testing the tools and activities.
According to the announcement, the partners’ first transnational meeting (Kick-off Transnational Project Meeting – TPM) took place in Cyprus on 22 and 23 September 2026. Discussions covered the planning of the work, the project’s methodology and implementation timetable, as well as ethical procedures and the participation of young people.
“e-NeuroFocus seeks to strengthen the participation and wellbeing of young people with ADHD, offering them opportunities to develop skills useful in everyday life in a learning environment that is more engaging and tailored to their needs,” the Association said.
