Police seized a large quantity of drugs during a coordinated operation by the Drug Squad (ΥΚΑΝ) and the Police Intelligence and Analysis Service (ΥΔΑΠ), carried out yesterday in Limassol.
Following coordinated operational actions and surveillance conducted over the previous two days, members of ΥΚΑΝ and ΥΔΑΠ carried out a police search operation yesterday at two homes in Limassol, on the basis of court warrants. The first home is occupied by a couple, a man and a woman, aged 53 and 51, while the second is occupied by a couple, a man and a woman, aged 50 and 31 respectively.
Cocaine, ketamine and cash found in first home
The search at the home of the 53-year-old and the 51-year-old was carried out in their presence, as well as in the presence of the 50-year-old man. At the couple's home and vehicle, and in a bag in the 50-year-old's possession, the following were located and seized:
- Cocaine, total gross weight of 34 grams
- Ketamine, total gross weight of 246.5 grams
- Methedrone, total gross weight of 15 grams
- MDMA ("ecstasy"), total gross weight of 12 grams
- €4,150
- $200 (USD)
- 90 Israeli shekels
- Mobile phones
- 42 packets of untaxed cigarettes and other evidence
126kg of ketamine found in second home
The search at the home of the 50-year-old man and the 31-year-old woman was carried out in their presence. At the property, the following were located and seized:
- A quantity of ketamine, total gross weight of 126 kilograms and 630 grams
- Precision scales
- Mobile phones and other evidence
Four remanded for eight days
The four suspects were arrested under court warrants for the purposes of investigating the case. This morning they were brought before the Limassol District Court for the issuance of a remand order. The Court approved the police request and issued an eight-day detention order against the four suspects, for the purposes of police investigations.
Investigations are continuing under ΥΚΑΝ.
