The person found dead inside a burning vehicle on a dirt road in Avgorou on Saturday morning died from the effects of the fire, a post-mortem examination has found.
The victim’s identity has not yet been established.
DNA samples taken
The post-mortem examination was carried out on Monday by forensic pathologist Nicolas Charalambous. Samples were taken for DNA testing to identify the deceased.
Police investigation continues
The body was discovered inside a vehicle that had caught fire on a dirt road in Avgorou. Police officers and firefighters attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.
The circumstances surrounding the fire remain under investigation.
