Ten days before the parliamentary elections of 24 May, betting companies are offering their own snapshot of how the electoral contest is shaping up. The odds on offer do not only concern which party is considered favourite to come first, but also projected party percentages, the battle for third place and even the number of parties expected to secure seats in the new House of Representatives. The relevant betting markets will remain open until 17 May, one week before election day.
Disy clear favourite
The picture emerging from betting companies Stoiximan and Novibet is clear. Disy is considered the strong favourite to finish first. The odds for Disy to emerge as the leading party stand at 1.30 with both companies. Akel is priced at 3.70 by Stoiximan and 3.65 by Novibet.
The remaining parties trail at a considerable distance. Amesi Dimokratia (Direct Democracy) has odds of 15.00 at Novibet and 25.00 at Stoiximan, while Elam is priced at 20.00 by Stoiximan and 21.00 by Novibet.
Alma is quoted at 50.00, while Diko follows even further behind, with odds of around 75.00.
What the odds suggest about party percentages
Stoiximan is also offering special bets on whether certain parties will finish above or below specific percentage thresholds.
Based on Thursday’s odds and betting lines (14 May), the market appears to estimate that Disy will hover around 22 per cent, Akel close to 21 per cent, Elam at approximately 13.5 per cent, Alma at around nine per cent, while Diko is expected to struggle to exceed 8.5 per cent.
Seven-party parliament?
Particular interest is also attached to betting on the number of parties expected to gain parliamentary representation. At Stoiximan, the scenario of eight or more parties entering parliament (over 7.5) is priced at 2.15, while the prospect of up to seven parties being represented (under 7.5) stands at 1.65.
Odds shift as election day approaches
Betting prices do not remain static. They change daily, as companies adjust their assessments based on developments during the campaign. On 11 May, for example, Disy was priced to come first at 1.57, Akel at 2.70, Elam at 12.00, Amesi Dimokratia at 15.00, Alma at 17.00 and Diko at 25.00.
The biggest change concerns Alma, whose odds rose within a few days from 17.00 to between 50.00 and 51.00. Diko’s odds similarly tripled from 25.00 to around 75.00.
Markets close on Saturday night
The National Betting Authority has decided that betting services related to the 2026 parliamentary elections will be permitted until seven days before the vote. As a result, all relevant betting markets will close on Saturday, 16 May 2026, at 11.59pm.
According to the Authority, the aim of the decision is to avoid influencing the electorate and creating impressions in the final days before the polls.
