Volt Cyprus Elects New Leadership at Party Congress

Pieros Karoullas and Lysia Demetriou won the co-presidency with 68.4% and 57.5% of the vote respectively.

Pieros Karoullas and Lysia Demetriou are the new co-presidents of Volt Cyprus. They were chosen at the party’s Electoral Congress, held on Saturday at the University of Nicosia’s Discovery Hall. Party members voted electronically for the co-presidents and co-vice presidents, while voting for the Political Council is still under way.

Co-presidency results

Male co-president

Pieros Karoullas defeated Ioannis Tirkides:

  • Pieros Karoullas: 121 votes (68.4%)
  • Ioannis Tirkides: 56 votes (31.6%)

Female co-president

Lysia Demetriou was elected ahead of Natasa Ioannou:

  • Lysia Demetriou: 103 votes (57.5%)
  • Natasa Ioannou: 76 votes (42.5%)

Co-vice presidents

Male co-vice president

Alexandros Apostolides won the post:

  • Alexandros Apostolides: 94 votes (54.3%)
  • Frixos Vryonides: 79 votes (45.7%)

Female co-vice president

Rodoula Demetriades had already been elected unopposed, as previously announced by the party’s Electoral Committee.

Election of the Political Council

The Electoral Congress is also electing the members of the Political Council, for which 30 candidates are standing. The new collective bodies will lead Volt Cyprus for the coming period.
