Four people were injured and 15 homes damaged in Riyadh after debris from intercepted missiles fired by Yemen's Houthi rebels fell onto residential areas, according to Saudi authorities.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA), citing a Civil Defence spokesperson, reported that air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed the missiles before they reached their targets.
Four civilians injured
Authorities said falling missile fragments injured:
- Two women
- One man
- One child
The debris also caused damage to 15 residential properties in the Saudi capital.
Aramco building targeted
In a separate incident, a missile struck an administrative building belonging to Saudi Aramco in Dhahran, in eastern Saudi Arabia.
A spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Energy said the attack triggered a fire at the facility. However, no casualties were reported.
Escalating tensions
The attacks mark another strike attributed to the Iran-backed Houthi movement, which has repeatedly targeted Saudi territory with missiles and drones during the regional conflict.
Saudi authorities have not reported any fatalities from either incident, while investigations into the damage are continuing.
