Police made four arrests overnight as part of organised patrols carried out at key locations in urban areas across Cyprus, aimed at preventing serious criminal activity, maintaining public order and strengthening public confidence, according to a police statement.
During the night, officers stopped 643 vehicles for inspection and checked 810 drivers and passengers.
At the same time, 39 premises were inspected, resulting in eight complaints.
As part of traffic enforcement operations, police recorded 322 reports for various traffic offences, including 89 cases of speeding. A total of 76 breathalyser tests were carried out, all with negative results. In addition, six vehicles were detained during police checks.
According to the statement, coordinated crime‑prevention and law‑enforcement operations continue on a daily basis, with increased police presence, targeted checks and immediate operational action, aimed at improving public safety, protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
