Two Kilograms of Cocaine Seized, 28-Year-Old Arrested in Limassol

Drugs imported from abroad intercepted following coordinated operation by anti-narcotics police

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Limassol following a coordinated operation by members of the Cyprus Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN), after the detection and seizure of a quantity of cocaine imported from abroad.

According to the Police, as part of ongoing actions by YKAN to trace and confiscate illegal drugs, officers of the Unit, in cooperation with the Greek authorities and the Department of Customs, intercepted two parcels originating from abroad.

Inside the two parcels, police said, carefully concealed nylon packages were found, containing approximately two kilos and 160 grams of cocaine.

In relation to the first parcel, a 28-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday in Limassol following a coordinated police operation. The suspect has been placed in custody to facilitate police investigations.

Investigations are continuing by YKAN Limassol.
