A quick, no-fuss cheese pie made with simple ingredients, delivering homemade flavour without the effort of traditional pastry.

Ingredients

  • 400g feta cheese
  • 200g strained yoghurt
  • 3 eggs
  • 250g self-raising flour
  • 100ml milk
  • 80ml olive oil
  • A pinch of pepper
  • Dill or mint (optional)

Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a large bowl, crumble the feta and add the yoghurt, eggs, milk and olive oil. Mix well until combined.

Add the flour and a little pepper, then continue mixing until you get a thick batter. If desired, add dill or mint.

Pour the mixture into a well-greased baking tray and bake for about 40–45 minutes, until golden on top.

Allow the pie to cool slightly before cutting and serving.

Tips

  • For a lighter texture, add 1 tsp baking soda.
  • For a richer flavour, combine feta with kasseri or graviera.
  • The pie is just as enjoyable cold the next day.
