The air route between Larnaca and Tel Aviv ranked among the 10 largest international air connections in Europe by scheduled seat capacity in August 2026, according to OAG data cited by Business Traveller.
According to the latest edition of Flight Mode, the monthly electronic bulletin of Cyprus airports, the route offered approximately 192,000 scheduled seats, placing it eighth in Europe and level with the Dubai-London Heathrow route in terms of capacity.
At the top of the European ranking was the New York-London Heathrow route, with approximately 330,000 scheduled seats.
The presence of Larnaca in the ranking highlights the importance of the Cyprus-Israel air connection within the European aviation network, with the route featuring among Europe's 10 largest international connections based on scheduled capacity.
More broadly, August figures reflect global aviation trends, with Asia-Pacific markets continuing to dominate international air travel.
The Hong Kong-Taipei route ranked first worldwide with approximately 589,000 available seats, while eight of the world's 10 busiest international routes were located within the Asia-Pacific region.
The report notes that OAG figures refer to scheduled airline capacity, not actual passenger numbers or flight load factors.
However, the figures provide an indication of where airlines are concentrating seat availability and highlight the strongest international air travel markets.
