Temperatures Rise but Showers Persist

A gradual heat-up is expected over the coming days, but afternoon instability will bring local showers and isolated storms, mainly inland and in the mountains.

Seasonal low pressure is affecting the region.

Today, the weather will be mostly clear, but during the afternoon increased cloud will develop, possibly bringing isolated showers, with the chance of thunderstorms, mainly over mountainous areas.

Winds will initially be variable and light, around 3 Beaufort, gradually becoming southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and at times on windward coasts reaching strong 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slight to a little rough.

Temperatures will rise to 35°C inland, 29°C on the west coast, around 32°C on the remaining coasts and 23°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear, though locally increased low cloud and patchy mist may form during the early morning hours. Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly and on the north coast southeasterly, light at 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slight.

Temperatures will drop to 19°C inland, around 21°C along the coast and 15°C in the higher mountains.

On Monday and Tuesday, conditions will remain mostly clear, but during the afternoon hours increased cloud will develop, expected to give isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly inland and in mountainous areas.

On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly clear.

Temperatures will gradually rise further, reaching levels above seasonal averages.
