The Council of Ministers has confirmed the appointment of Ilias Anagnostopoulos to the independent criminal investigation team examining the findings of the Independent Authority Against Corruption in connection with the “Mafia State” case.

His appointment fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Christos Mylonopoulos. The decision was approved despite objections raised in recent days over Anagnostopoulos’ inclusion in the five-member panel.
