Cyprus Women’s National Team Begin 2026 Preparations

The Cyprus women’s national football team has started preparations for its first fixtures of 2026, including a friendly against the Faroe Islands and the opening match of the 2027 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Cyprus women’s national football team has entered a preparation phase ahead of its first commitments of 2026, with two matches scheduled in early March at Dasaki Stadium.

According to the Cyprus Football Association, the team will face the Faroe Islands in a friendly match on 2 March, before hosting Romania in the opening fixture of the 2027 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign.

Friendly Against Faroe Islands

The friendly match against the Faroe Islands will take place at Dasaki Stadium on 2 March, with kick off scheduled for 14:00.

The two teams last met in Cyprus on 26 September 2023 at Dasaki Stadium in a UEFA Women’s Nations League qualifier. On that occasion, Cyprus secured a 1-0 victory with a goal from Andri Violari in the 65th minute. It marked the women’s national team’s first win in an official match.

World Cup Qualifying Opener

Following the friendly, Cyprus will begin its qualifying campaign for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

The match against Romania will be held at Dasaki Stadium on Saturday, 7 March, starting at 14:00.

Squad And Training Camp

The preparation cycle began on Monday at the Pyrgos Community Stadium.
