Cyprus’ Road Transport Department has issued a new notice on dangerous vehicles and components recalled across the European Union and listed on the EU’s Safety Gate rapid alert system during weeks 14 and 15 of 2026.

The department said the recalled products, which include vehicles and parts, are available through its online link for dangerous products.

It also called on manufacturers, authorised representatives, distributors, importers and sellers, including those operating online or through distance selling, to inform the department if any of the affected products have been placed on the market in the Republic of Cyprus.

Where such products are available in Cyprus, the department said the relevant economic operators must take all necessary steps to ensure they are withdrawn or recalled in line with the applicable legislation.

Consumers who own recalled cars or motorcycles are urged to contact the manufacturer, representative or distributor for guidance. The department said owners should check whether their vehicle is affected by consulting the registration certificate and verifying the details listed there, such as the production range and model type or number.

As for recalled components, holders are advised, where appropriate, to stop using them immediately and return them to the point of purchase, if possible, while also informing the seller.

The department added that if a manufacturer, representative, distributor, importer or seller refuses to honour the consumer’s rights in such cases, a written complaint should be submitted to the Consumer Protection Service through its website.
