Melania Trump issued an unannounced on-camera statement at the White House denying allegations connecting her to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The statement comes as renewed attention surrounding Epstein’s network continues to affect the political environment around the presidency of Donald Trump.
White House statement
Speaking to reporters, Melania Trump rejected claims circulating online linking her to Epstein and described them as false.
“The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today,” she said, adding that individuals spreading such claims lack ethical standards and respect.

She stated that manipulated images and statements connecting her to Epstein have circulated on social media for several years and urged the public to be cautious about such material.
Denial of any connection
The US first lady said she had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and denied any involvement with him.
“I have never had any knowledge of Epstein’s abuse of his victims. I was never involved in any capacity. I was not a participant,” she said.
She also stated that she had never travelled on Epstein’s aircraft and had never visited his private island.
Background of the case
Epstein died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges involving minors. The case has remained a subject of public debate in the United States.

Over the past year, the United States Department of Justice has released additional documents related to Epstein’s activities, renewing scrutiny of individuals previously associated with him.
Call for hearing for victims
Melania Trump also urged the United States Congress to organise a public hearing for survivors of Epstein’s abuse.
She said such a process would allow victims to testify under oath and present their accounts publicly.
